The 15th annual Innovate Michigan! Summit will be on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing, Michigan. The Innovate Michigan! Summit featured presentations on innovative economic development tools, models, programs, and policies from around the state.

This year’s program will also feature a panel discussion examining how key sectors of housing, childcare, and health, shape and influence economic development outcomes across Michigan. The conversation will explore emerging challenges, opportunities, and cross-sector solutions that support stronger and more resilient communities. 

The event will also focus on REI’s transformation and future direction. Join us as engaged partners; we want to hear your perspectives and ideas for what comes next!

Help the MSU EDA University Center for Regional Economic Innovation develop economic development project ideas focused on distressed communities and regions of Michigan for 2027!

Have an idea for an economic development project? Your innovative idea submission could be broad or focused and also anonymous if you choose. Your topical project ideas will inform our 2027 call for proposals that are most likely to create or retain jobs and/or businesses in economically distressed communities and regions of Michigan. You may submit as many topical ideas for projects as desired.
