[MSU] Assessing Bus Stop Shade Coverage and Potential for Improvements to Support Climate Adaptation: Grand Rapids

Summary

This project will conduct a citywide inventory of bus stops in Grand Rapids to assess existing shade coverage and identify opportunities for improvements, such as shade trees or shade structures, to enhance comfort and accessibility for transit users. The resulting baseline dataset will inform future planning for pedestrian and transit amenities, with particular attention to the City’s Neighborhoods of Focus (NOF) to support equitable climate adaptation and infrastructure investment.
