At REI, we have seen outstanding success from many of our Co-Learning Plans. Among the most notable is Cristina Benton's Makerspaces, Supporting an Entrepreneurial System, which led to the East Lansing Public Library's "Books, Bites & Bids" event, which raised $19,000 for a digital maker space at the Library. The ELPL Digital Lab will include a variety of high-end technological equipment, including video and audio equipment, a 3D printer, and high-end computers with Photoshop, video and music editing software, and digital design programs. Makerspaces are now gaining national attention, with the first White House Maker Faire in June, and the administration is making plans for increased support of Makers in the coming year. REI is proud to have supported this project, and looks forward to further successes in our 2014 Co-Learning Plan Series.
